About Marjan

Marjan van de Weg is native Dutch and fluent in English after moving to Scotland over ten years ago. She has worked on in climate change issues and statistics since 2005.

1930346_561130283861_7351_nShe has worked in a range of different ecosystems, from Scottish agricultural wetlands and Dutch peatlands, to tropical forests, woodland savannas and the Arctic tundra.

Marjan holds a PhD in Geography from the University of Edinburgh (UK), and a MSc in Global Environmental Change from the same university. Before that, she obtained an MSc in Ecology, and a BSc in Biology from the VU University in Amsterdam (the Netherlands). She has furthermore worked for a variety of international research institutes, including the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole Massachusetts, and the Amsterdam Global Change Institute at the VU University in Amsterdam.
